#Poem | Who Is She?

Who is she?
This woman
Staring back at me.
Silent eyes,
Weariness abounds.
Lost in thoughts.
Shoulders stooped
With an obscure load.
Who is she?

Laughed with reckless abandon,
Didn’t she once?
Where is that smile,
Carefree,
So free?
A dull reflection
Of who she used to be.
Who is this woman
Staring back at me?

  1. so long as societal norms and expectations are that laughing with reckless abandon, fun & floric are meant for particular stage of life and one should outgrow it, the smile is not likely to return…
