The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah | Book Recommendation #Reads

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is this week’s recommendation.

Genre: Historical Fiction

Why should you pick it up?

Because it takes you back in time to a period when two women brave out the second world war in their own ways. Because it talks about the contribution of women in fighting and resisting one of the worst humanitarian disasters in world history.

It’s no secret that I love reading. It is something that gives me joy, a sense of satisfaction and even accomplishment. I have also found myself looking for book recommendations every now and then. There will be many readers like me who look for the same I’m sure. Well, why not when there is so much to read and so little time?

Hence, I thought, why not introduce a new series on the blog – a weekly post on book recommendations?

No, not reviews, mind you, because there are people who do that quite nicely already. Mine will be short posts, as you saw above, recommending books I enjoyed reading with just a few lines about why I think you could pick those up as well. And this is the first post of the series. Wish me luck people and don’t leave without suggestions of books from your end as well.

I love historical fiction so I have started the series with one of my favourite books from that genre.

Looking for book recommendations? Look no further. Every Wednesday I'll come to you with a book recommendation. #Book #Goodreads

  1. I love the idea of book recommendations every week. Also this book, it’s been on my radar for a long time, so I am definitely going to get to it soon. Thanks for sharing, and all the best with the new series. 🙂

  2. Talking and hearing about books is my favourite past time but in my case, what I talk about are mostly children’s books. So sharing book recommendations every week is a fab idea. I went ahead to read your review of this book and I will look forward to borrowing it from the local library as soon as I get a chance. Not buying any more books, paperback or Kindle, for now. However, I bought Eleanor and Park’s kindle edition yesterday on a whim and read it from start to end by midnight. Of course, the chores got squeezed in against my reluctance. It is a sweet romantic story, worth the read on Valentine’s Day 🙂

  3. I havent heard about this book yet but it sounds interesting going by the premise you have shared here. Interesting series and all thebest with it ; I shall keep checking into it.

  4. A weekly post on book recommendations can be the best thing that happens to bibliophiles like me 🙂

I remember you telling me about this book while I was reading ‘Winter Garden’ by the same author. I loved that book so much too. This one has been on my TBR since then, I’m finally going to buy it now.

Thank you! Please keep this up week after week, I know I’ll keep coming.
