Take Me To Maldives

I’m so tired. This is the feeling I wake up with every day. And trust me when I say this that it isn’t a great feeling to start a new day with. Perhaps it is the time to plan a vacation. It’s strange isn’t it how I need to be completely drained out to actually think of a holiday? Well, that’s me.

The moment I think of vacation; I start picturing myself on a beach. Does that happen to you? Having grown up in a hill station, I always seek a beach destination for a break. I guess I’m a sucker for the sun, sand and sea. This is one of the reasons why I want to rush to Goa for every single occasion or celebration in my life. Just like last year when I celebrated my daughter’s first birthday there. This year too I know it is going to be a beach destination. But which one?

Well, I’ll tell you.

I have been dreaming about the Maldives for quite some time now. From the moment I stumbled upon the pictures of this heavenly destination, I have fancied being there one day. How do I describe what I feel about it? Peace is the one word that comes to my mind. Away from the maddening rush of life, I could sit in a shack by the sparkling shades of crystal clear blues. Read, relax or just wet my feet in the water. Joy, that’s what I feel just imagining being there. The lovely azure waters which are a treat to the eyes and soothing for the soul, that’s what I need. Having had a wonderful time in Mauritius a few years back, I can only imagine what it would be like in Maldives which if I go by what people say, is paradise.

The feeling of being in the middle of nowhere is what I seek. Reading about the Maldives makes me feel that’s the place for me to get that. It’s more beautiful than words can even describe. Well, at least, I do not have the words to describe how beautiful and enchanting it is.

I’m so inclined to be there that on a number of occasions I have also browsed for resorts there. Planning isn’t bad, is it? Each is more beautiful than the other. So much so that it is hard to settle on one. There is one resort, the Kurumba Maldives which I quite liked. But then there is always a Taj property that I’ve always been inclined towards anywhere I go. Taj exotica Maldives being one such. Having stayed in Taj Exotica Goa, I can only imagine what it would be like in the Maldives. Every bit worth it is what I can say.

All I need now is to find some space in my calendar and save up enough to go away on a vacation of a lifetime to the Maldives. There are so many things that I need to look at before I set off though. That’s why I wish I could magically be transported there without having to sort out anything. But that’s just wishful thinking, isn’t it?

Have you been to the Maldives? What do you recommend?
